I am Dean Holloway, Managing Director of Holloway & Gauntlet Insurance Services Ltd
Tell me about your business.
We are an independent insurance broker dedicated to providing individualised support to business and personal customers. . We work with clients across Somerset, extending into the Devon and Dorset border areas and beyond! Dean has over 28 years experience within the insurance sector which means we work with any client, from the small independent to one with a six-figure turnover .
We have taken an option to run the business with Gauntlet Risk Management – a hugely respected commercial and Chartered Insurance broker with over two decades of experience in offering its clients the best cover, at the best price.
Whilst Holloway and Gauntlet Insurance Services Ltd will mainly focus on the insurance needs of business clients, it will also tap into the insurance service that Gauntlet offers to private individuals requiring home and motor insurance.
Establishing his business in this way, means Dean can concentrate on what matters to him – adopting a customer-centric approach to business and putting his clients’ needs first, every time he engages with them. He is building a brokerage based on principles such as visiting clients at a time of their choosing, even if that is after 5pm or at the weekend, and on the tenet of round-the-clock availability by telephone, email or social media
What is unique about how you do what you do?
The insurance world is becoming far too impersonal for clients and Dean wishes to reverse the trend and work with clients in the way that brokers used to do, but with all the backing of cutting-edge modern IT offered by Gauntlet Risk Management.
Like many dedicated brokers, Dean has not enjoyed seeing insurance brokers being bought out by huge organisations that offer a very impersonal service. Caring about the client and tailoring insurance protection to their requirements is at the heart of what he does, rather than cold calling and selling off-the-shelf protection.

What is the one thing people don't know about your business but should?
We have access to one of the largest Insurer networks in the World “Willis” and 300 Insurers to work with through our parent company Gauntlet Risk Management Ltd . As we are not tied to an y one insurer ,this often means we have more choice than other brokers which means more often than not we can offer improved cover and more competitive premiums. Additionally we do not charge additional customer admin fees which are typically applied by other brokers at inception , mid term and renewal of polices.
